Rare-Breed Pig Collection (2 cards for £5)
Pigs are one of my favourite animals, often maligned, they are intelligent and in the wild, quite secretive.
My collection comprises of Bluebell, Clover, Holly and Poppy.
Bluebell is an imagined Tamworth Cross sow. We have some fabulous native bluebell woods in Scotland and I’ve imagined Bluebell in one. The only likelihood of this is if there was an escapee, though it does happen! Multiple layers build the colour in the bluebell wood, which gives a dense blue hue.
Clover is a happy Saddleback sow in a summer field. A pig’s natural habitat is forestry. Wild pigs are rarely seen out and about in the daytime. I think Clover would be happy in this field though, as long as she didn’t get sunburn. Layered meadow with clover and wild flowers.
Holly is a Large Black rare breed sow, enjoying rattling around in the winter snow. We’ve seen pigs here doing just that as it’s part of their natural behaviour.
Poppy is a delightful Rare Breed, Gloucester Old Spot sow, enjoying the turn of season from summer to autumn. Poppy is happy in her corn field, with splashes of poppy red colour.
