Mermaid of the North (Original Canvas)
A local landmark, the mermaid sits in the sea at Balintore on her black rock. The 10’ bronzed wood, created by Steve Hayward in 2007, has been placed so that her tail is covered by water at high tide, although here I imagine her out of water. Layered acrylics with some darker tonal shades.
Canvas: Original one-off unbleached cotton canvas (350gsm) on European pine frame- 20cm x 20cm
